The Gulley

The Corby Old Quarry 'Gullet' or Gulley runs through the centre of Priors Hall Park.

Awarded Wildlife Status in recognition of an excellent set of standards, including biodiversity and quantity of rare habitat types, our nature reserve is a very important part of Priors Hall Park.

The pathway passes through almost 2km of grassland before reaching the 9-acre lake in the Southern Gulley.

As well as inhabiting varied and even rare wildlife species, from the grizzled skipper butterflies and emerald damselflies, to the majestic red kites overhead, our nature reserve is a place to appreciate the wildlife on our doorstep.

While enjoying walking through it, please follow the path, keep dogs on a lead and take your litter home with you.

The gulley runs between zone 1 and zone 2 and you can enter from the north from the path behind Eagle Close, or from the lake area between Lake Drive and Harrier Close, or in the middle from the causeway (opposite the new care home), or from the bottom end of the Quarry View play area, off Levatts Way.
