A Summer of Community Fun!

It’s been a busy summer at Priors Hall Park, with a fantastic programme of community events bringing residents together to enjoy the sunshine, get active, explore nature and, most importantly, have fun!

Priors Hall Park Neighbourhood Association (PHPNA) and Urban&Civic have delivered a packed programme of activities for residents of all ages.

The summer got off to a great start with the Summer Family Fun Day, organised by PHPNA held at the Amphitheatre. With FREE activities, entertainment and live music, it was a brilliant afternoon and evening for the whole family.

There was plenty more to enjoy throughout the summer, including the return of the popular Youth Games in the Amphitheatre for its sixth year, followed by our weekly Turn Up & Play sessions during the school holidays. These free sessions gave children and young people the chance to get active, try different activities and make the most of the summer holidays.

We also launched something new this year with Play in the Park, starting at the award-winning Village Green. Families could enjoy the facilities already available, alongside giant outdoor games including Connect 4, Quoits, Beanbag Toss and Giant Jenga.

For those who enjoy a more relaxed evening, PHPNA brought live entertainment back to the Amphitheatre with the return of Outdoor Theatre - The Pantaloons, giving residents the opportunity to enjoy a performance together in the heart of the community.

And it hasn’t all been about sport and entertainment. Our Wellbeing Walks and Buggy Walks have continued to encourage residents to get outside, explore the green spaces around Priors Hall Park and meet other members of the community. We also took to The Gulley for our second annual Big Butterfly Count, working with Butterfly Conservation to discover more about the wildlife living on our doorstep.

A huge thank you goes to everyone who has attended an event this summer, as well as the residents, volunteers, community groups, partners and sponsors who help make these activities possible.
